Minbif aims to use the libpurple library from the Pidgin project to provide an IRC-friendly instant messaging client. It uses the libpurple library to support over 15 IM protocols.

Sending files is now supported. A user just needs to send a file with DCC to a buddy, and minbif gets it and send it to the IM network. Since DCC SEND is supported, you can set your icon on all IM accounts just by sending the file to the pseudo-user "buddyicon". The second major feature is CACAcam. The last bugs have been fixed, and now you can see a buddy's webcam. An irssi script is available to display webcam frames in the buddy's query. Other new notable features are IPv6 support in daemon-fork mode, IRCop status to manage all minbif instances, and a test system.
