Sketch is a vector drawing program similar to
CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator. It is written
almost completely in Python with some modules
written in C, combining the flexibility and power
of Python with the speed of C. Advanced features
include gradient fills, clip masks, text along a
path, blend groups, convert text to curves, and more.

netmapr is a simple SDL-based network diagram
program that aims to be quick and easy to use
without a huge list of library requirements. It
supports NetViz-style "drilldown" into nested
diagrams.

MyPaint is a program for painting images from scratch. It supports pressure sensitive graphic tablets and comes with an easy to use brush collection. The canvas size is unlimited. Layers and blending modes are supported.

QCAD Pro bundles QCAD with additional proprietary tools and plugins, including read and write support for the DWG file format, SVG export, printing a drawing on multiple pages (poster), and support for splines from fit points. QCAD is an application for computer aided drafting in two dimensions (2D). With QCAD, you can create technical drawings such as plans for buildings, interiors, mechanical parts, or schematics and diagrams. QCAD can be easily extended through plugins and its very powerful and complete ECMAScript (JavaScript) interface.

DrawSWF is a simple drawing application written in Java. The drawing can be exported as an animated SWF (Macromedia Flash) file. It has been tested to run with Java2 1.4 under Linux.

GEF is a graph editing library that can be used to
construct many, high-quality graph editing
appications. It features a simple, concrete
design, a Node-Port-Edge graph model that is
powerful enough for the vast majority of
connectied graph applications, a
Model-View-Controller design based on the Swing
Java UI library, and high-quality user
interactions for moving, resizeing, reshaping,
etc. It also supports several novel interactions
such as the broom alignment tool and
secltion-action-buttons.

Arachne is program that implements Avidan and Shamir's seam carving technique for content-aware image resizing. It allows realtime, fluid image resizing using this fascinating technique. Seam carving works by removing the "boring bits" from an image, so it can change the aspect ratio of many images without changing the shape of the objects inside.

SVGSlice is a simple tool which generates chopped
up images from Inkscape SVG drawings. To figure
out where to cut, SVGSlice can use Inkscape's
built in guides (for simpler, grid-like cuts), or
it can use a specially named "slices" layer that
contains rectangles that mark areas to slice. Demo
files showing both approaches are included.
