WDB is a weather data storage system for storage
of weather and water observations, forecasts,
analysis fields, and models. The system should be
compatible with the meteorological standards BUFR
and GRIB (version 1 and 2). In addition to generic
loading programs, WDB also features a flexible
retrieval interface for retrieving weather data in
time series or entire fields. WDB is built using
PostgreSQL extended with PostGIS.

This release marks the official "production version" of WDB. It includes some major changes to the WDB system. WDB has been updated to be compatible with PostgreSQL 8.4.
